Finding it hard to buy for that person who seems to have everything? Or wanting to teach your children the importance of giving to those in need at Christmas time? 1. GIFT A NEW PAIR OF SHOES
$12 A PAIR
Shoes put children on the path to:

Better Health: parasites and diseases enter the child's body through cuts in their feet

Better Education: Many schools and workplaces do not allow children with no shoes and therefore shoes help them rise out of poverty

HOPE: Typically, children at orphanages share shoes. Having their own pair of shoes gives pride and hope that someone cares for and loves them.
Our goal is to buy 90 new pairs of shoes by December 2020.
2. GIFT A NEW PAIR OF GUMBOOTS
$8 A PAIR
Rainy season in Uganda is deadly. Diseases lurk in the waters including malaria and other water-borne diseases such as cholera, typhoid and hepatitis.
Waterproof gumboots will mean that children will be better protected from these diseases and their overall health will improve.
Our goal is to buy 159 new pairs of gumboots by December 2019.
3. GIFT A BED PACKAGE
$12 A PAIR
We had a big drive at the end of 2018 for bed packages which include a mattress, sheets, pillow and blanket. We reduced the children sleeping from 7 to a bed, down to 4 to a bed. The reports we received back was that the children were sleeping better and were healthier (many diseases/illnesses were spreading quickly due to sleeping arrangements).
Whilst four to a bed is much better, it is still not good enough. We want to buy 38 more bed packages which will reduce the number of children sleeping in a bed to two. This is also the maximum number of beds that we can fit in the space at present.
Our goal is to buy 38 bed packages by December 2020.
4. GIFT A MEMORABLE CHRISTMAS
$10 DONATION
The children of Hope Orphanage have never celebrated Christmas before, to them it is just another day. Can you imagine never celebrating this special holiday? This year, we will be giving them a special lunch: chicken and rice. For us, this might not seem special, but to the children of Hope Orphanage, this is a real treat!
We would also like to purchase some other treats so that they know they are loved at Christmas time. Your donation will greatly help with this.
